GrandGT: TechArt Tunes Porsche's Panamera Turbo to 571HP

Joining the world premiere of the 2011 Cayenne-based Magnum at next month's Auto Zurich Car Show in Switzerland, will be yet another new tuning proposal from Porsche specialist TechArt, this time based on the Panamera sports saloon. Dubbed the GrandGT, the tuning firm's new customization program revamps the Panamera Turbo's exterior and interior styling, and performance.

Starting with the exterior dress up, the German tuner's wide bodykit provides a more aggressive appearance to the Panamera. It includes a modified front bumper housing integrated LED daytime running lights and a front splitter, a carbon fiber hood, side skirts, a fixed rear wing, a new rear bumper with additional air vents and a diffuser.

There are also new front and rear fenders, which increase the car's width by 21mm and 42mm on each side respectively, while the body colored headlamp trims, new exhaust tail pipes and a choice of alloy wheel designs in sizes 20-, 21- and 22-inches complete the exterior makeover.

For the interior, TechArt's program offers buyers a wide variety of customization options ranging from an entertainment package with two 7-inch screens that are integrated into the front seat backrests to a full leather treatment with decorative stitching in custom colors.

Under the hood, the TA 070/T1 powerkit lifts the 4.8-liter twin-turbocharged V8's output from 368 kW (493-hp) and 700 Nm to 426 kW (571-hp) and 830 Nm, while there's also a new sport exhaust system producing a throatier sound.

Details on pricing and availability will be announced at the unveiling of the car at the Auto Zurich Car Show.

TechArt Teases New 2011 Porsche Cayenne Magnum

Having sold more than 1,000 units of its first-generation Porsche Cayenne Magnum models, it's only natural for German tuning house TechArt to develop a successor based on the freshly launched second-generation Cayenne. Teased here for the first time, TechArt's new Magnum program for the 2011 Cayenne will be given its world premiere at the Auto Zurich Car Show in Switzerland, which runs from November 11 to 14.

The tuning program will include a full body kit with a new front bumper that includes LED daytime running lights and additional xenon units, a carbon fiber hood, rear apron, side skirts, wider fenders and a roof spoiler. The sport exhaust tail pipes and newly designed alloy wheels in sizes between 20- and 23-inches will complete the exterior package.

For the interior, TechArt will offer customers a variety of options ranging from bespoke leather upholstery and unique three-spoke steering wheels to roof-mounted entertainment kit.

The aftermarket tuner is also preparing a host of performance enhancements with engine kits plus suspension and braking system upgrades. Specific details will be released after the presentation of TechArt's Magnum program at the Swiss auto show.

Techart Power Kit Tunes Porsche 911 Turbo S to 620HP

Even though the freshly unveiled Porsche 911 Turbo S leaves the Stuttgart factory with more ponies than a horse farm (530, to be precise), it's still not enough to satisfy German tuning firm, Techart.

Its team of engineers crafted a new power kit that increases the flat-six engine's output by 90HP and 120Nm for a total of 620-horsepower and 820Nm (604.8 lb-ft) of peak torque. The boost is achieved through a reprogrammed ECU, a free-flow air filter, a new manifold and a sport exhaust system.

According to TechArt, acceleration from zero to 100km/h (62mph) is trimmed from Porsche's 3.3 second claim for the stock 911 Turbo S to 2.9 seconds on the tuned version. It can also get to 200km/h (124 mph) in just 9.3 seconds (down from 10.8) and ultimately reach a top speed of 333km/h (207mph), up from the standard model's 315km/h (195mph).

TECHART Powers Up Porsche Panamera Turbo

For those looking to add an extra punch in performance under the engine bay of the Panamera Turbo, Porsche tuner extraordinaire Techart has released a new power kit for the German sports saloon. The TA 070/T1 kit provides the 4.8-liter turbocharged V8 with an additional 80-horsepower and 70Nm of torque for a total output of 580HP and 830Nm whenever the driver needs it at a touch of a button located on the center console.

The Techart-prepped Panamera Turbo drops the stock 0-100km/h (62mph) time of 4.2 seconds (4.0 seconds with the Sports Chrono package) down to 3.8 seconds, while the car completes the 0-200km/h (124mph) sprint in 12.5 seconds. Top speed is increased from 303km/h to 315km/h (196mph).

The new power kit for the Panamera Turbo will be available from all Techart dealers starting in August.

It's a Wrap: Techart Unveils Tasty Porsche Panamera Black Edition

In a lighter-than-usual take on the Porsche Panamera, German tuning house Techart has unveiled a surprisingly tasty cosmetic-only package for Stuttgart's new four-door sports saloon

Aptly named "Black Edition", Techart's Panamera proposal is wrapped in a matte black vinyl film.

It also comes with the company's Aerodynamic Kit I that includes side skirts, aprons, spoilers and daytime running lights, as well as with 22-inch alloy wheels in a black shade, new brake calipers and a sport exhaust system with four tail pipes.

Inside, Techart has upgraded the Panamera Black Edition's cabin with high-quality black leather combined with alcantara as well as hand-sewed decorative stitching and leather piping in flamenco red.

In addition, numerous interior components like trims, door entry guards, cup holder and the air vents are finished in a matte black design.

Geneva Pre-Gaming: Techart's Reptilian Porsche Panamera Concept One

It's one of the cars representing German tuner Techart in Geneva this year: the Concept One, a Porsche Panamera meant to showcase the firm's "second individualization level". And individual it is.

We'll start with the "unusual" interior, which is where this car really shines (although most will probably disagree): cocoa over white with "Phosphor" green stitching and detailing accented by tasty Cerbero trim - which must be the gator-skin stuff - on the dash, consoles, and seats.

Drivers get to wrap their mits around a Techart 3-spoke steering wheel with PDK paddles, while passengers will no doubt remain entertained thanks to the custom ceiling-mounted 10.2 inch TV/DVD player and fold-down rear tray tables. In my opinion, you should do yourself a favor and have a peek at the interior shots.

Motivation for this sports-tank comes from a Techart-tuned 650-horse version of Porsche's twin-turbo 4.8 liter V8 breathing through a stainless steel exhaust system.

Outward appearance is brought to you by way of a PU-RIM body kit which widens the car by 21 mm in at the nose and 42 mm at the haunches. Said kit makes use of new front/rear fascias, fender wideners, side skirts, and an adjustable rear wing.

Those 22-inch rollers are Techart Formula IIIs in dull platinum gray, and while there's something fancy about those LEDs up front, no one will ever care about what it is because they'll be looking at the viciously-gill'd hood and wondering what lurks beneath (hint: it'll eat your car for brunch). If you DO indeed care about those LEDs, scroll down for a press release excerpt.

"The multifunctional TECHART daylight driving headlight system contributes essentially to the active safety of the driver by combining daylight headlights, parking lights and turn signal lights as an LED system unit in one common housing that seamlessly fits into the vehicle front design.

The intensity of the lights adjusts automatically to the selected headlight circuit. Additionally, the headlight can also be dimmed for improving the effect of the turn signal lights, even while turning off."
