New Beetle Limousine is a Prom Queen’s Dream

New Jersey’s Route 22 Limousines is selling this 1999 Volkswagen Beetle limousine. The six passenger vehicle was built in 2001 and is finished with a white exterior and grey leather interior with TV, minibar, mirrored roof and custom lighting. Imagine the look on the face of Daddy’s Little Princess when you bring this home to take her to the Senior Prom...

And imagine the look on the face of Daddy’s Little Princess’s mother when you try to explain the US$45,000 price tag. Sure, it may seem a little steep at first, though presumably Route 22 spent a fair amount of money lengthening and customizing this...uh...“unique” vehicle.

It occurs to me though, adding all that additional weight to a New Beetle is going to seriously impede the performance of its 2.0 L engine, especially when mated to the standard 4spd automatic transmission. You know what I mean: 0 to 60 mph (0 to 100 km/h) in four hours and a minimum turning circle of a mile (1.6 km). I hope Route 22 upgraded the brakes, at least, or the new owner is going to be in for some fun times on wet roads.

Though I suppose, unless you’re carrying the President of the United States, a limousine doesn’t really have to be fast or nimble: it just has to be big, comfy and have a well stocked minibar. I won’t bother asking what you readers think of this thing; unless you’re a bride-to-be or a prom attendee you’ll probably think this thing is daft as it looks. I could be wrong though...

Find of the Day: Lancia Delta HF Integrale EVO Stretch Limousine

Just when you think you've seen everything, you stumble across something even more amazing like these two (or at least they appear to be two different models) Lancia Delta HF Integrale stretch limos that are up for sale in Italy at €99,000 (about US$136,000 at today's exchange rates) a piece.

We don't know much about the two cars, but here's what we do know. They both feature the wider body and detailing of the 1991 Integrale Evoluzione with one of them assumingly motivated by the HF Integrale 8v's 2.0L turbo and the other by the Evo I's 210-horsepower 2.0L 16v turbo unit.

If the two limos are based on original Delta HF Integrale cars or on standard Delta hatchbacks, and if they feature the Integrale's four-wheel drive system or not are questions that we don't have the answers to.

Too Much of a Stretch? Dacia Logan MCV Limousine

When you think about stretch limos, we sincerely doubt that Dacia is among the brands that come to mind. Still, that hasn't deterred some folks from building one off the Logan MCV, a crossover version of the Renault-Nissan alliance's Romanian low-cost sedan. Details are thin on the project but in the extremely rare case you have nothing else better to do, there's a bunch of computer generated drawings of the interior after the jump.

Audi Q7 Uber-Stretched Limo with Gullwing Style Doors

Limo builders in the States love going to extremes with their creations. A perfect example is this 2010 Audi Q7 stretch-limousine conversion that can fit up to 16 passengers. Open the gullwing doors and you'll be greeted by an interior that reeks of alcohol disco bling with neon lights, flat screen TVs, alligator and snake upholstery, and get this - a fishtank... Bling yourselves to death in the photo gallery after the jump.
